Fitness Journal – Day 8 of 90 (Start Week 2!)
Happy Monday! It’s the start of Week 2 (out of 12 weeks), and it can only go up from here, right?
Morning and Today’s Workout
I opened some items I picked up from Trader Joe’s yesterday for breakfast – smoked salmon, crackers, and cheese. OMG, so good. Of course, I had some coffee too. Work was going a steady pace, and I managed to get through all 3 workouts before lunch today! So productive! The workouts today (total body) consisted of the following –
- 8 min At Home Cardio Workout – this one wasn’t bad! It was similar to last week’s workout with various squats.
- 10 Minute Anti-Bloating Cardio – this was probably my fave one today. It was very promising, but I’m still bloated many hours later. Sigh.
- At Home Total Body Slimming Workout – this workout is meant to be done on the couch, and I didn’t like it! My couch isn’t the right height and my chairs aren’t either. I practically half-assed this video, and did half of it on my yoga mat with modifications instead of the sofa and chair.
Lunch and Before Dinner
How boring my day has been… I haven’t done much today, and I’ve felt so out of it since after lunch. Lunch today consisted of pesto pasta, dumplings, pizza rolls, and sauteed string beans. I worked the whole time after lunch till just a bit before dinner. It was rather productive to some extent, but just how I was feeling, I felt I could have been more productive.
Dinner and Fussy Daughter
Tonight’s dinner main item was a Cheesy Chicken Broccoli Rice Casserole from this recipe. We put extra cheese in ours though, and I really liked it after adding some hot sauce. The kids are such picky eaters, and once a while we would try new recipes to see if they would eat it. It’s rather disappointing that they just want to eat the same foods over and over, not expanding their food palate. Anyways, I asked the kids if they would eat this dish before we grocery shopped for ingredients, and they said yes. Unfortunately, that yes became a hard no during dinner time tonight. What a hassle.
Wine and Ice Cream
I had a glass of wine tonight before/during dinner in hopes to feel a bit better. It helped a little bit, but am still feeling a bit out of it. It’s probably one of those things where my brain is cloudy all day except right before bed, which I won’t be able to sleep. My Apple watch contains a sleep app, and I tried it out for the first time last night. Apparently I was moving around a lot around 2 or 3AM.
I had a matcha boba popsicle after dinner and it was good! The creamy texture just felt so right.
Day 8 Recap and Thoughts
There it is, my day 8/90 recap. I didn’t have as much protein as I thought today, unless I calculated the nutrition recap incorrectly. I did amazing on the snacks by incorporating some yogurt and an apple. Yay!
I really dislike this foggy brain feeling. Perhaps I need to move around a bit more today, so maybe I’ll do some yoga or something. I have to read more of this month’s book (first book I’ve been reading in a long time!) before a discussion with people from work later this month. Perhaps I can be productive by reading a chapter of that before bedtime tonight.
