It’s definitely been a while! I guess I’ve fizzled out / got over blogging this year, but perhaps I’ve just been super busy with work. The summer has been quite expensive. If I do get my “anticipated” bonus this year-end, consider it spent and then some already. Some things that came up include – 

  • Dental work – this doesn’t include the gum grafting that I’m supposed to get done next year. I need a couple teeth moved around for the grafting to be successful, so I just started Invisalign to make that happen! It’s only been a couple nights and it’s been such a chore, omg… 
  • Car – the old car, it’s in the shop. $2K of repairs, not including the parts we bought beforehand. 
  • Daughter’s trip – she got in the grade 8 DC trip for some time later in the school year. That’s another $4K right there!

There were some good parts over the past month or so, nothing like a fancy vacation or something cause I’m just a single income household. Some stuff below!

I’ve been seeing this cat quite a bit over the summer, but it wouldn’t let me approach it. So cute and so sad.. I haven’t seen it recently-ish, but my son did, so I’m glad to know it’s safe.
Yelp Elite Events! The header photo is the actual store from this event. Very nice, natural products. Unfortunately I don’t take care of my body and skin, but will work on that or will try at some point. Good scents all around.
Started Duolingo as an attempt to learn / re-learn some Japanese, but I’m finding it very game-like. It’s more memorization and completing goals than really learning. Really need the time, patience, and supplemental information to have it stick I suppose.
Tried a new coffee shop in Walnut Creek. It has very high ratings, but after it really completes and gets its theme together, I’d give it 5 stars. Great ube dalgona drink, but one of the worst mushroom cheese empanadas I’ve tried.
I went boating / hung out by and in a lake for the first time! Tried tubing and got a lot of sun. Camped for a night. Drank a can of Celsius for the first time out of desperation for caffeine.
Did Marathon Month at Orangetheory! Since August is over, I’m looking forward to just walking more on the treads during the tread block. That running really took a toll on me. I’m not built to do this, but would like to be!

There you go… some updates from the past month! Not so exciting on my end… just going into debt, one major expense at a time. Will just need to try to not really shop much for myself until the end of the year and use the anticipated bonus (fingers crossed) to get close to a break even point. Bad timing / unanticipated expenses and Alo Yoga clothing really broke the bank!
