Brunch Experience at Bouchon in Vegas – Fun and Delightful Meal!

It wasn’t too long ago that I had dinner at Bouchon in Vegas. Since brunch wasn’t offered the prior time I went, I didn’t get to try Bouchon brunch then, but I was in Vegas again on a Saturday before my flight, so I finally got to try Bouchon brunch!

Reservations

Initially I made a reservation for 3 for 10:45AM on a Saturday morning weeks in advance. Just several days before the reservation, I was notified to add 2 more to the reservation. We got so lucky since they had a reservation for 5 at that same time. Otherwise, we would have had to do lunch or 8AM brunch. Yup, make those reservations as early as you can.

We were given the menus and the waiter took drink orders. I got a cappuccino. It was good, very classic.

The Waiting Game and Menus

We got there and checked in around 5 – 10 mins before our reservation and ended up waiting after our reservation time to get seated. It was a bit frustrating as our dinner reservation was a better experience on that front, but I suppose this was one of their prime brunch times. We got seated, and menus were handed to us. They were very different than the dinner menus – a lot more stable! I ordered a cappuccino and others just had water for their beverage.

Family Style

Everyone was down to share everything, and that’s exactly what we did! We got the bread and it came with some spread and the amazing French butter. A bit different than the dinner bread experience as we got pistachios for dinner. Photos of the food below. We also shared some escargot, which is the header photo above. Somehow the dinner escargot tasted a bit better in my opinion, but it was the same… my escargot was just a bit chewier this time around.

Order of 4 pastries. They had 5 different ones we can choose from on the menu - croissant, chocolate croissant, cheese danish, blueberry muffin, and almond croissant.

Pastries Galore!

We tried one of all other than the blueberry muffin. They also had a sticky bun as part of their special, but they ran out by the time we were seated. That sounded so good too! My favorites were the cheese danish and the almond croissant. The cheese danish was uniquely shaped and it was amazing – cut easily and didn’t leave a mess as the others, and the cheese/cream went very well with the pastry. It was also the waiter’s favorite as he came by and was like, “which was the best one? Cheese danish!” Another table order the 4 pastries as well, with all 4 being the cheese danish. So good. I would get that again. Almond croissant was crispy and nice. The regular croissant and chocolate croissant were alright. Not terrible, but I just prefer the ones I get from my local French bakery.

Toast à l’Avocat - grilled pain de campagne, piquillo marmalade, Haas avocado, radish & ricotta salata

Avocado Toast – Tasted Better than it Looked

Wow, that bread was difficult to cut! The avocado toast looked rather plain, but wow, it was bursting in flavor. Perfect acidity to it.

Escargot

Buttery and flavorful as always. A bit too much garlic for me so I didn’t partake in dipping my bread in extra garlic butter.

Bénédicte au Crabe - jumbo lump crab with Bouchon Bakery English muffin, two poached eggs, sweet corn, onion confit & sauce Hollandaise

Crab Benedict the Best Brunch Dish?

The waiter sure thinks so! Eggs were poached perfectly. Most crab Benedicts I’ve seen were crab cakes, and this one was more of veggies and crab chunks. It wasn’t overpowering and it wasn’t too subtle as well. We just wished there was more of it! Just one of these on the plate and not 2, but slightly bigger than a single “normal” one of these.

Poulet et Gaufres - roasted chicken with bacon-chive waffle, Crown maple syrup & sauce Chasseur

Thomas Keller’s Take on Chicken and Waffles

It’s not fried chicken! It’s a roasted chicken and it’s another item that tastes better than it looks. It looks quite plain, but it was a nice take of chicken and waffles. There were 2 sauces on the side – one for the chicken and one for the waffles. Both were excellent. The chicken here was very similar to the chicken we tried during dinner. It’s the signature chicken here!

Dinner or Brunch?

More options on the dinner menu, but brunch vibes felt more casual which I enjoyed. I do prefer the dinner menu a bit more because of the options, but I say go for the brunch if you enjoy brunch foods more. They also had some lunch options, such as a burger, fries, etc. I wouldn’t mind going here again for either. We skipped dessert for brunch as we were going to try some other spots right after this. Great company, good vibes. Our waiter was so funny. I loved it.
