Fitness Journal – Day 22 of 90
Day 22 of 90 of this 90 day fitness journey! Today was an alright start of the week, considering it’s a Monday, so Happy Monday!
Morning
I decided to use a vacation day, and my headache from yesterday continued onto this morning. Waking up was a challenge since I felt my headache and was like, “Aw, c’mon!!” I got out of bed and immediately made myself a single serve coffee (still waiting for my beans to arrive…) and dunked some shortbread in there and had a tasty breakfast of shortbread and coffee.
Today’s Workouts
After some chilling and watching some Firefly Lane on Netflix (not sure if I recommend it as it’s not something I’d watch again, but interesting show about the lives of 2 longtime best friends), I did the today’s workouts before lunch –
- Shredding for the Wedding Cardio Workout – I quite enjoyed this 10 minute workout since it was rather low impact except for the plank jacks at the end, which I just walked out instead of jumped. The background of flowers in this workout were pretty.
- Butt Lift & Slim Thighs – Another under 10 minute video. It was a good video, but fire hydrants get me every single time! There must be something about my hip flexors that I need to stretch out that’s causing the “ugh” sensation every time I do a fire hydrant move. It also makes me laugh because the move 100% reminds me of a dog going pee.
- Crazy Abs, Butt & Legs workout – Also around/under 10 minutes long. This one starts out tough with the ab work that was tough on my tailbone. The moves consisted of a lot of in n outs (I wish I had an in n out burger), and I had to take many breaks to complete this video because my tailbone was just ouch.
Lunch Time – YAAAAY Burrito!
The husband went to a Lowe’s to pick up some sturdy storage containers today and stopped by a cheap Mexican food place on the way back. They have sopes (his fave!) and excellent burritos for under $10 for a super burrito. I usually eat the whole burrito in one sitting and then some, but I decided to just eat half for lunch alongside with some chips and guacamole, and save the other half for dinner. Surprisingly, I succeeded at that, but then ended up snacking on some chips.
Afternoon – A bit of Downsizing and Baking
It’s unbelievable how it’s been nearly a year since shelter-in-place started. I’ve been working from home for the past 11 months, and have been wearing primarily PJ pants, hoodies, sweaters, T-shirts, leggings, and tank tops. My work clothing has been untouched these 11 months, and most of my casual clothing have remained untouched too. I opened my closet door and grabbed about a quarter of my wardrobe and tossed it aside to be donated. It consisted a lot of work clothing that I’ve had since out of college (holy shit, over 10 years ago!) and casual tops that I haven’t worn in years (either too small/shrunk, or no longer sparks joy). Those Walker Shortbread cookies from TJ’s don’t last very long since the pack is GONE if a family of 4 each eat 2 pieces, so I made my own. It’s been a while since I made any type of shortbread, but I had a good time making these basic ones.
Pre-Dinner
The kids and I had some of these cookies before dinner, and it makes me so happy when they enjoy my baked goods. My son was finishing up an assignment, and my daughter wanted to read with me, so we read a short book together right before it was dinner time. We also took the dogs out for a walk, around 20 minutes or so.
Dinner
I had the rest of my carne asada burrito for dinner, as well as some leftovers from Saturday’s dinner from my parents. My daughter wanted another boba popsicle, so she and I split one together. So satisfying!
Today’s Overview
I wasn’t sure of the nutrition information to the burrito and whatever I had for lunch and dinner so I just found one online for a large burrito with carne asada, rice, guac, and more and split that one in half. It seems I did have more than that based on how full I feel right now though. As I’m typing, I’m also trying a Breyer’s Heath and Waffles ice cream. It wasn’t really good, probably as I don’t really like Breyer’s. I also got some chunks of nuts, which the front of the box did not mention. Ah, curses.
It was overall a good day, considering it as a Monday. I got rid of some old clothing, making room for new additions in my closet, so that felt productive, though it only took a few minutes.
