On Cloudrunner Shoes Review

I absolutely really wore the shit out of my first pair of On shoes. On Cloud? Not sure what they were really at the time since I got them as a gift pre-pandemic, and those were the shoes I walked around in and started to workout in a couple months ago. Those shoes were black all over and looked simple, and they were comfortable right out of the box.

Time for New Running Shoes

There are several brands to choose from, and most people I see wear Hoka, On, or Brooks shoes. My feet started to hurt a lot after the first few weeks at Orangetheory, and I read that shoes should be replaced every so often and few years of lots of walking on my first On shoes prob wore them down. I had a pair of Nike Pegasus shoes that I switched into, but they weren’t as comfortable as the On shoes, but my feet stopped hurting as much after I switched.

Another Pair of On

Since my first experience with On shoes has been amazing, I decided to buy a pair of their running shoes. There were a lot of options, and since I’m no real runner and just doing Orangetheory class stuff, I decided on the On Cloudrunner shoes.

Photo from their website. The shoes come in many other colors!

Great Color and Sizing Options

The shoes I got a couple months ago are linked here. They also come in wide sizing. Color option was hard to choose so I had the husband pick between a couple of them, and he picked the one with some of somewhat purple. Not the black shoes that I’m used to, so this was a different one in terms of color. I like!

Ordering and Shipping

Online ordering was very simple. Got a “welcome” offer of 10% off. I could prob link one here, but I lost the link unfortunately, but you might get a pop up to sign up and get the 10% off. Or choose that refer a friend option and refer yourself and use that code for yourself. One of those options… I forget. The shoes came within a week. Awesome stuff.

Initial Fit

I ordered my true size, 6.5, and the initial fit was a bit tight. Very tight compared to my first pair of On shoes as those were perfect since the beginning. So the On Cloudrunners do require some breaking in. I suppose some people recommend sizing up, but these did fit very well after a couple times.

Walk First

Going all out with the first couple times in these On Cloudrunners wasn’t going to be my thing because I wanted to make sure they feel good before I go exercise in these. I wore them to work (before switching to heels at work) for a few days. Once the shoes were mostly broken into, I wore them to Orangetheory.

Nice color scheme with the On Cloudrunners. I’d prefer the lower part to be a bit darker, but wasn’t an option when I was ordering these.

A bit Over 1 Month Later

The On Cloudrunners have been great in class, but as of a week ago or so, there’s been some pressure on the top of my right foot. Not sure what it is since I didn’t feel the discomfort beforehand. Perhaps it’ll go away, or maybe that sewed on portion that says the shoe size is a bit too thick.

Another Pair?

New designs and colors come out so it’s very tempting to get another pair, but I think I will try a pair of Hoka shoes (love the bright colors!) or Brooks before I get another pair of On shoes. I’ll probably order a different brand and rotate around the running shoes so that they have more time to breathe and don’t stink up as quickly!
