Aweinspired Review – Dreamcatcher 14k Yellow Gold Vermeil Necklace

I fell for a Facebook ad. Aweinspired filled up my FB ads multiple times that I finally gave in. Aweinspired’s Goddess Collection (some necklaces featured above from their site) looked so good that I spent a long time looking through their offerings. I was unable to settle for a single Goddess, but I was good not to buy multiple Goddesses, so I ended up buying their “large” dreamcatcher necklace. The material is also gold vermeil, but shinier than my Goddess Charms necklace.

Why the Dreamcatcher?

I didn’t even notice Aweinspired had other options outside their Goddess collection. All ads I’ve seen featured their Goddess collection, and I loved the look of so many of them. Athena, Mulan, Kamala, RBG, Artemis, Florence Nightingale, Aphrodite, and so many other powerful “goddesses.” I knew I wanted a necklace, but couldn’t decide on which one. Then I clicked on other parts of the site and saw that Aweinspired had many other charms that layer well with their Goddess necklaces. The Dreamcatcher necklace stood out since I don’t have a Dreamcatcher charm yet. There were 2 sizes – a small and a large, and I decided to go with the large. Spoiler: it isn’t actually that large.

Ordering Process and The Packaging

It’s online shopping so the checkout process was a breeze. I put in the “EMPOWER15” code and got 15% off my order. My order arrived within a week, and the packaging was a bit surprising.

  • Shipping box – the shipping box was not secured or taped at all. I easily lifted the flap and got my contents. Thank goodness it wasn’t empty or stolen.
  • Necklace Box – Solid, nice logo box. Keepable quality. The inside was even better since it has a mirror in there.
  • Contents – Necklace was secured typically, and it comes with a polishing cloth.

Necklace Look and Feel

The look and feel from front to back is pretty amazing. Very shiny, but in a good way. Aweinspired mentioned that their gold vermeil is different since they use 3 microns of gold over sterling silver whereas other jewelers use 2 microns. I’m not too familiar with the concept, but 1.5x gold thickness sounds pretty good. The dreamcatcher charm is 22mm, a bit under an inch. Their mini one is 15mm. Somehow the larger pendant comes with a 28 inch chain, which is way too long for me. I’ll need to find a way to shorten it to 16 inches or so as their mini necklace.

What to Wear With

Layering seems common, especially in their advertisements. A goddess charm necklace, a goddess charm accessory necklace, some chains, and such… wouldn’t that be beautiful, both on the wearer and to Awesinspired’s profits. A good percentage goes to charity so it makes it a bit more okay, but I wasn’t in the right place to shell out so much money to get multiple necklaces at once. The shorter length Goddess necklaces are beautiful by itself and seemingly can go with any outfit. Unfortunately, I misread the necklace length of this Dreamcatcher one. I’ll need to shorten the chain, loop it around, or wear it over a sweater or against a black top or something. It’s really long, and I’m really short!

Final Thoughts / Worth It?

Their Goddess Collection is still on my mind, and a buzzed me will most likely order a random one in the near future. I’m satisfied with the Dreamcatcher look, but am disappointed in myself re the chain length. Awesinspired’s necklace looks amazing, but I’m unsure if it’ll hold up well. I don’t wear necklaces too often, so I suppose that’s a good thing since it won’t deteriorate as quickly if it were to easily deteriorate. Darn it, FB ads! You got me good.
