Chanel Classic Flap Handbag – Minor Authentic Comparisons

OK, so a Chanel classic flap handbag is a lot of money these days. I got a black and silver one for around half the price at the Chanel store in Tyson’s Corner (yep, when I was living on the East Coast), and it’s unbelievable they go for over $8k these days! Anyways, my mom has been admiring that kind of bag for some time now, but she prefers gold hardware compared to silver, so here is my Chanel bag comparison classic flap handbag post. The black and silver one is my authentic one!

The classic flap (not the small or the maxi) dimensions are 15.5 × 25.5 × 6.5 cm. Pretty close, right?

Both bags crease as they are folded. Luckily neither are permanent!

Brief Thoughts

I don’t carry my silver hardware Chanel classic flap bag around much because I’m scared of damaging it and the double flap thing is sometimes a pain. I’ve also been leaning toward gold over silver fairly recently, but my mom has always preferred gold to silver so she likes the gold one more. Major difference between authentic and not, and the biggest difference to these bags is how the leather feels. The gold hardware one feels a bit stickier, and I’m unsure if that will go away over time. Other than that and slightly thinner leather, it’s hard to tell from afar.
