Fitness Journal – Day 20 of 90 (Food Filled Awesomeness!)
Yaaaay, day 20 of 90 of this 90 day fitness journey! Today was a very quiet, slow day filled with family and food.
Morning
Curses… my coffee beans still have not arrived, so I had a couple instant coffees this morning along with some yogurt and string cheese. Trader Joe’s yogurt is pretty good, but their packaging can use some work. Their packaging gets confusing because the top will say the flavors, and a flavor name can be directly on a lid of one of the yogurts, but the side of the yogurt will have the actual flavor. See below image as an example, haha.
Today’s Workout – Stretching!
Today’s workouts felt rather nice, especially after yesterday’s quick burn series. I actually think doing Fridays’ stretch videos on Saturdays and doing Saturdays’ more intensive workouts Friday feels better since it’s so nice to stretch after working out legs and thighs. Today’s 2 videos were –
- Wake Up With Me Workout – a short video of light exercise, supposedly good to do first thing in the morning to wake your body up.
- Feel-Good Stretches for Splits – great video that reminds me that stretching is extremely important. This video consists of various stretches that are one minute long each, for a 25 min+ video. A bit of it uses a strap, and it helped me open my hips a bit.
Lunch Time at the Parents
We went to my parents’ house for lunch (and dinner) today. They cook similar things each week for lunch, notably chow mein, wontons, and dumplings. I don’t have wontons that much, and restaurant ones can taste a bit weird to me, so it’s always a treat to me when I eat these at my parents’ place. They are rather addictive and it’s hard to stop eating them. Luckily they don’t seem too terrible because there’s protein and such.
After Lunch – Tea and Desserts
So I mentioned I was going to make a matcha mousse cake yesterday, and I did. I brought it over to my parents’ place and we all had a slice. It was pretty good with great matcha flavor (yes, I added extra matcha so that I can taste it). We also had some donuts, and I had a bit of a maple one.
Before Dinner
We walked the dogs for a little bit in the afternoon and played with them for a while. I sat around the rest of the afternoon since I wasn’t feeling too comfortable, but was rather surprised my cramps weren’t as bad as they could be. My dad was cutting some fruit and I had a mango. So good! Whoops, did not write that down… but yeah, I had a mango.
Dinner Time!
Dinner was delicious tonight! We had some oysters, both raw and steamed. My brother made some duck fat fries, and the daughter mentioned they tasted better than McDonald’s fries! What a compliment since we love those fries! They were tasty on their own and we did not use any condiments on them. We also had some fish and some chicken green beans. Saturday night dinner is not complete with some alcohol, so we had some scotch. I was looking up nutrition facts for that to add to my journal, and wow I was surprised that such a small amount of scotch contains that many Calories. So good though!
Today’s Overview
It was a nice relaxing day for the most part. My mind has been feeling rather cloudy all day, perhaps because of my time of the month. I’m really glad that my cramps were not as bad today as they usually are during the heavy days. I came in at over 2,000 Calories (perhaps add 100 or 200 more for the mango I forgot to record), but almost everything I had (other than cake, donuts, and fries) seemed relatively healthy. Everything tasted so good, so today was an excellent food day.
