Fitness Journal – Day 6 of 90

Day 6 of 90 of this fitness journey! I feel and look completely bloated today, but hey, almost a week of filling out this fitness journal down!

Morning/Early Afternoon

Weekend! I was so happy the weekend has started because it’s been such a busy week. My sleep was a bit better last night, and I was able to sleep in a little before the pups woke me up. I ran out of Trader Joe’s frozen foods (will def stock up tomorrow), so my breakfast consisted of an omelette with cheese, and a couple coffees. It was actually rather nice to make myself an omelette since it’s been a while.

Workouts

I got my workouts completed before the afternoon today. The primary reason is because my parents expect the kids, husband, and me to visit them for lunch till after dinner each Saturday. It’s tough to get much done there, so I take care of as much as I can before we all head over there. I did today’s workout yesterday, so I did yesterday’s workout today, which was a 21 minute stretching/flexibility video. The downside of the video was it required a strap (fine, I had one, and there are lots of substitutes such as a towel or even a simple yoga strap) and a small massage/pressure point ball (did not have one). I was doing my own stretches during the times the ball was used.

Afternoon

We made it to my parents’ place for lunch. The lunch consisted of some noodles, veggies, beef chow fun, and wontons. Ahhh, carb-olicious! Noodles and wontons were really good, and my mom typically makes us all overeat. She doesn’t like throwing food away, so if there’s a bit left, she makes us finish the plates.

Activities

The whole fam had some tea and chocolate after lunch. My kids, husband, and 2 pups went on a nice walk afterwards and that felt so nice! The afternoon consisted of a lot of puppy play. Sooo cute!

I had some fruit in the afternoon too. It’s something I usually forget to have on my own, so I should try to incorporate more fruits on my daily menus.

Dinner/Evening

Yup, each visit to my parents’ place consists of a lot of food that comes constantly. Dinner consisted of some Peking duck, BBQ pork, rice, chicken with string beans, some soup with who knows what in it (an Asian thing?), and some alcohol. All of it (minus the soup) was delicious! The foods aren’t foods I’d cook, and my dad is a pretty good chef. I appreciate all the foods I get to eat at my parents’ place, though I usually eat way too much there.

Overall

It’s been a typical Saturday during these pandemic times. My fam doesn’t go out and see people other than each other, so we feel safe going to their house. I just realized I didn’t consume any packaged/frozen foods today, not counting chocolates and the plum sauce for the Peking duck. Pretty, pretty good.

Well, this is what I recorded for the day! I didn’t have nutrition labels, so I looked up all of this online and wrote down what seemed accurate in terms of weight of food and its nutrition. Somehow I feel more bloated than usual. Super Bowl Sunday tomorrow, and CPK is having some kind of promo and we have a gift card, so we know what we’re getting for lunch tomorrow!
