In Good Taste Wine Advent Calendar Review
It’s a bit off season writing about an advent calendar in March, but who’s to say I’m super traditional? Advent calendars are fun no matter what month it is! Anyways, my bestie gifted me a WINE advent calendar! This is In Good Taste Advent Calendar. In Good Taste is a brand I haven’t heard before, and they did not disappoint, especially with how picky I am with wine.
Delivery and Packaging
So based on communication, the In Good Taste advent calendar should have arrived a month or so before it arrived. I received it closer to Christmas, so I was drinking the wine around then and through January. The package itself was large and heavy, but I was really impressed with the packaging. The cardboard box was very sturdy, including the numbers marking the days. Each wine fit neatly and snugly in each compartment. It also comes with some descriptions of their wines, not necessarily the wines included.
Glass and Wine
I absolutely love the size of the glasses that these wine came in. The quality is really good, definitely keepable to put some flowers or other storage items in them. There is an amazing variety of wines in here. They include the following –
- Sauvignon Blanc – white
- Syrah – red
- Pinot Gris – white
- La Pluma Rose – rose
- Sangiovese – red
- Vermentino – white
- Tempranillo – red
- Chardonnay – white
- Barbera – red
- Cabernet Sauvignon – red
- Cotes du Rhone white blend – white
- Bordeaux – red
- Grenache – red
- Ventoux Rose – rose
- Riesling – white
- Merlot – red
- Pinot Noir – red
- Pinot Grigio – white
Wine Quality / My Thoughts
I drink a lot of cabernet sav, and I enjoy the occasional white wine. Rose and I don’t mix well as I don’t like most of the rose wine I’ve had. There was one that I liked at a restaurant, but any other rose bottles I’ve tried weren’t good regardless of price. In Good Taste wine advent calendar exposed me to a lot more whites and rose wines, and they were rather acceptable. I actually finished the bottles of all these wines. There were some that weren’t that great, but they weren’t terrible. Some wines were shared during lunch or dinner and the guests enjoyed the wine as well.
Save the Bottles
The bottles are very cute. Our guests requested to take home the bottles after we drank the wine, so we let them take home the empty bottles. They can be used for a variety of crafts or as small vases.
Final Thoughts / Worth It?
Worth it? Yeah! I’m extremely happy with this gift. I was happier when my bestie said there was a black friday or some other sale deal too because that made these wines even more worth it. Full price may be a bit too expensive ($150, so over $6 for each single bottle), but it’s still worth it just to try a bunch of wines. They aren’t the best wines, but most are better than most up to $12 bottle wines at stores I’ve tried. The quality of the packaging and bottles are excellent. I wished all 24 bottles were different as there were a handful of repeats, but that was my main complaint. Another thing is it’ll be nice of the last day (24) would be special – such as a special label or something that makes that number stand out. Otherwise, this is such a fun and awesome advent calendar!
