My Newest Bag – Louis Vuitton’s Felicie Pochette!

Newest Splurge Occurred in Vegas!

Somehow my financial responsibilities take a downturn whenever I’m in Vegas. In addition to expensive meals, I bought an expensive bag during my recent Vegas trip. It’s the Louis Vuitton Felicie Pochette, and here’s my felicie pochette review and buying experience.

This is such a versatile bag as it can be a wallet on chain, a small actual pochette, or a clutch. So many varieties here.

Why the Felicie Pochette?

I’ve had my eye on one the past couple years, or whenever I saw someone with a classic monogram design one in line at the bakery. The bag was cross-bodied on a golden chain, giving that small pop of classic LV print on her side. It was beautiful, and it seemed to be a good bag to take whenever since it can carry the essentials and it isn’t bulky.

Types of Felicie Pochette

There are several designs and some designs come in various color patterns as well. See below for what is on LV’s website as of October 2022.

Bicolor monogram empreinte leather (dove/cream and black/beige options), epi leather (black or galet options), and monogram empreinte leather (turtle dove, rose poudre, navy red/black, black, scarlet, and cognac options). Most chains are gold colored, but it seems the black epi leather one has its chain in silver color.
Damier Azul (one of my fave LV prints!), damier azul studs, and Monogram Empreinte leather for the Spring in the City capsule collection. The studs and pink ones aren’t available, and I find the pink one so adorable!
The classics - damier ebene and classic monogram! Can’t go wrong with these. The ebene one has a red interior with the card holder in red as well, and the classic monogram one has a fuchsia interior and a fuchsia card holder portion.

Why the Empreinte Leather, and Why Black?

I don’t have a bag in this leather and color/print! I’ve been curious of it since choosing a pochette Métis, and I didn’t want to go with a classic print though I loved those. I stepped foot at the Caesar’s Palace Louis Vuitton and this one was on a display case right in front of me, so it was meant to be!

The felicie pochette comes with a couple items - one pouch and a card holder. These can be directly in the bag or out. Pretty cool!!

Purchasing the Bag and Made in USA

Sadly this one doesn’t have a Made in France or Made in Spain stamp on it as some products do, so this one was made in the USA. The quality isn’t perfect, so I learned that it’s better to buy LV in person to inspect the bag since online purchases can be a hit or miss. Once my folks bought a wallet online and some of the stitching was so off compared to the husband’s wallet from several years ago. Such a difference between the Made in Spain versus the made in the US ones… so ashamed that it isn’t even stamped… right? Anyways, I loved the bag too much to care about this detail on this felicie pochette. The sales rep was really nice and answered my questions and explained how the chain can be shortened by wrapping it around in various ways. Definitely helpful since I’m short.

A closer view of the “accessories” that the felicie pochette comes with. Usually the zip pouch comes in the color of the main bag and the card holder portion comes in the interior bag color.
Interior of the bag without anything inside. It can fit both items, or just one and a phone. I like the options greatly.
Here is the inside when I put both add-ones inside. I like how I can use the pouch completely separately and have it in either this bag or another bag. The card holder is cool that it is detachable so we don’t need to dig in the bag for cards when it comes to built in card slots.

Unadjustable Chain Length

This and the price are probably the worst things about the felicie pochette. The chain is long for me since I’m a short person. It’d be nice if it were adjustable as the strap on the pochette Métis is, but there are ways to make the chain appear shorter without cutting off any of the links. The sales rep showed me, and it involves wrapping the chain around and buttoning the bag so that it can be carried with such “shorter” chain. The chain is removable so it can be used as a true clutch as well, and the clips can be put on some of the loops, further able to customize the chain length here.

This is how long it is on me without an adjustment. I can crossbody it, but it’s still a bit long that way on my frame.
I looped the chain around once and it looks better length-wise! The loop will come apart when the bag is opened, but luckily not too big of a hassle there.
Here’s a photo of the chain wrapped around to make a shorter appearance.

Final Felicie Pochette Review Comments

The leather feels pretty good and I love the black. Super versatile lil bag or wallet on chain. The leather will soften over time, but overall pretty durable! It felt a bit awkward being the only one in my group to buy something, but hey, Vegas! Also, it’s so crazy how much LV bags went up over the years. My first bag (Speedy 25) and second (Neverfull MM) didn’t cost as much as this lil thing.
