Nobu Tasting Menu in Vegas – Photos and Review!

I recently went to Las Vegas – an annual trip with a couple amazing friends! We upped our $$ this trip and splurged at several restaurants. Nobu @ Caesar’s Palace was one of the places we tried during this trip.

Tasting Menu

The Nobu tasting menu was $225 a person and it comes with 7 dishes – 3 cold, 3 hot, and a dessert. Since we were there, we decided to go for it! They do have a rule that everyone must participate (I tried in NYC before, and we were allowed to get 1). Enjoy some beautiful photos below, descriptions/review in the comments to our experience to the Nobu tasting menu!

Cocktails - Nobu sidecar and lychee martini. The lychee martini is one of their more popular drinks and it was really good! Nice lychee flavor, on the sweeter side. The sidecar has a noticeable hint of orange, not quite my style. I really enjoyed the spherical ice in there though.
First Course - their sashimi moriawase salad. 3 types of protein on top of some veggies. The scallop was so darn good, and the tuna was alright. The item that looks like salmon (I think they said it was something else) was good as well.
Second Course - Kanpachi/amberjack, otoro, and red snapper. The otoro was so good! I love fatty tuna. The red snapper and amberjack were good with their acidity of sauces. nut the otoro was definitely the best. It had some crunchy bits in there (garlic crisps?) and good sauce too. I could eat a bunch of it without all that. Mmm otoro!
Third Course - nigiri tasting! Japanese flying fish, fluke fin, skipjack tuna, and Japanese fan clam. Eat each piece separately, ginger on the side optional. I ate from left to right, and each piece got better after the other with exception with the last one. The skipjack one had us wrap the seaweed around it like a musubi and it was so creamy and delicious. So wanted more! One of my fave pieces of the nobu tasting menu.
Fourth Course - frito mixto / assorted tempura! I believe this was shrimp, scallop, lobster, squid, and shishito pepper. We all said this was the best tempura we've all ever had! All of it was really good, with a perfect crunch. The flavored salt on the side and the aioli added to the tempura as well. The lobster portion was a bit overdone for me, but the rest was excellent.
Fifth Course - their signature miso black cod! I've had this dish in NYC and DC and it was really good there, but this was our least favorite dish of the tasting menu. It had great miso flavor, but my fish was a bit overdone and was really salty. It comes with strong pickled veggie we can bite on between bites to cleanse our palates. It really tasted like ginger. A friend doesn't like miso, so it was hands down her least favorite dish here. My fish was thin, overly salty, overdone. It seemed I was eating concentrated miso paste for the most part.
Sixth Course - Beef tenderloin yuzu truffle butter. So flavorful, can really taste the truffle flavor here. The steak is cut for you in slices, and it was delicious. I'd prefer mine to be a bit more underdone, but the texture and flavor was great. I was secretly hoping for some wagyu as part of this nobu tasting menu, but this was pretty amazing.
Seventh Course (Part 1) - whole photo in the header pic. This part of their miso caramel ice cream. YUM!! Smooth, flavorful, not overly sweet ice cream.
Seventh Course (Part 2) - Whisky Cappuccino. OMG this was my favorite dessert during my whole Vegas trip! Whisky foam on top, below contains some cacao nibs stuff and there's some mousse on the bottom. I could have gone without the mousse part,, but the combo on top was soooo amazing. I want more of these! Maybe I just like whisky?
Seventh Course (Part 3) - Green tea lime cheesecake. Pretty good, including the berries! Not a wow factor as a whisky cappuccino, but a great dessert.

Overall Thoughts

Definitely coming back or to another Nobu location to order mostly their RAW dishes! We all liked the raw dishes from this nobu tasting menu a lot more than the hot dishes. It was a bit disappointing that our least fave dish that night was their miso black cod – one of their super popular and many people’s fave dishes. Since I’ve had that at a couple other Nobu locations, this one was probably just a dud? Great but expensive drinks. Our total bill for 2 drinks and 3 tasting menus was just a bit under $800 before tip. Service was pretty good overall. Our waters kept getting refilled and they did a great job explaining what the dishes were and answered any questions we had.
