Isabela’s Part in We Don’t Talk About Bruno (Encanto) – Sounds Like Roxette/Stars

First of all, I took the header photo from CBR here

The Story

The kids enjoyed Encanto, and one of their favorite songs was We Don’t Talk About Bruno. There are many melodies in the song, and when Isabela’s portion came up, the tune sound so similar, but I couldn’t remember what song it was. It was from a techno/dance sounding song that I listed to back in high school (too long ago). I was thinking about the words to that song and I remembered, “where the gardens grow” and “where the waters flow” after sitting on my bathroom floor for 5 minutes. A simple Google search later, I found it! The song is Roxette/Stars. Let me try linking some videos to see if you agree too!

The Specific Similarity

Lyrics to the part in We Don’t Talk About Bruno –

He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised, and someday be mine
He told me that my power would grow, like the grapes that thrive on the vine

Lyrics to the part on Roxette/Stars –

And the stars
Will show
Where the waters flow
Where the gardens grow
That’s where I’ll meet you

The purple parts are the similarities in the tune. Am I crazy, or am I right or am I right? It could be too few notes to matter, but somehow I just had to find the song… perhaps it was because there was some history to it back then (dear friend that’s no longer with the world introduced it to me).

Let’s Hear it via Piano

Without the lyrics… YouTubes below!

Name That Tune in 5 Notes

If they played that, which one would it be? Forgive me if both sound 100% different to you (I don’t have the best ears for sure), but those 5 notes are nearly exactly the same to me and to my untrained ears. Alright… now I got that out here, I can no longer waste anymore time on this subject. K, tnx, bye.
