Porto’s Chicken Empanadas – Bake at Home Review

Porto’s chicken empanadas is my second Porto’s bake at home review! With a 2 box minimum, I decided to add potato balls and their cheese and spicy pepper balls to my order as well, but this post will focus on the porto’s chicken empanadas review.

What Are Porto’s Bake at Home Chicken Empanadas?

Frozen chicken empanadas that you can bake at home! The item comes frozen and it’s to remain frozen until baking time. These come by the dozen, and a dozen is $16.99, which isn’t bad for empanadas considering just a few at a restaurant is over $10.

Baking Instructions

Baking instructions can be found here as well. Pretty simple – preheat oven to 400 F, and place frozen empanadas withe enough space apart on top of parchment paper on top of a baking sheet, and bake until golden brown. They say 30 – 35 mins, and 25 – 30 mins in a convection oven. My oven is still a bit messed up so it took 40 mins or so. Ah well.

Empanada Frozen Quality

Some look pretty good, and others are looking not so great. There are some with frozen filling spilling out, and others with cracked pastry.

Taste and Worth It?

Not bad for the price! They aren’t as flavorful as restaurant fresh empanadas, but they did satisfy my empanadas cravings. There is a bit too much pastry/crust on these, but yet again, I’m more of a fillings kind of person. I’d get these again if I was going to order more Porto’s Bake at Home items. Unfortunately I’m the only one in the household that would eat these.
