Holly Bedding – Anthropologie Bedding Review
I’m trying to enforce a “no spend February” this month where I don’t purchase things that I don’t need. November through January have been big spend months, and one big thing was some Anthropologie bedding! Here’s my Anthropologie bedding review!
Quilts and Duvet Covers
Anthropologie sells such beautiful bedding. I’ve bought a couple quilts from them years ago on sale, and they were beautiful! The issue with their quilts were that they were not machine wash friendly. They’re supposed to be dried cleaned or something (yeah, I got no experience with that), as if they’re placed in the washer and dryer, the quilt or comforter clumps up so badly. Yep, that’s how I ruined my beautiful quilt/comforter. This time, however, I’m trying one of their duvet covers!
Holly Bedding
Anthropologie had a 30% off all bedding and selected home items, and I decided I wanted new bedding. Their holly design stood out to me. It’s like a winter spring thing, dark and bright at the same time. Unfortunately their bedding comes very separately – the duvet cover in one package, the fitted sheet and such in another, and pillow cases in yet another purchase.
Packaging
I expected some more material as the package of all three items came in a medium-small box. The quilts are much more bulkier as expected, but how compact the duvet cover and sheets were was quite surprising. Packaging was rather standard. There wasn’t any deluxe packaging for these rather pricey bedding pieces unfortunately.
The Duvet Cover
There was a side with buttons. I placed our comforter in there, and there was still some room in the duvet. The duvet can handle some thicker comforters based off that that. The front is the blue green and florals, and the back contains a green background with white floral designs.
Sheet Set
Funny enough, the sheet set is more expensive than the duvet cover. The sheet set comes with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and 2 standard pillow cases. All the items in this set is the green background with white floral design. It goes quite well with the holly, but honestly, I wish I could have just bought the fitted sheet since the pillow cases in this pattern wasn’t what I wanted and I don’t find a point with the flat sheet. It took a while for me to get the fitted sheet on the bed… sigh… fitted sheet issues.
Shams / Pillow Cases
The holly pattern pillow cases are sold separately. I wanted my pillows to have that pattern, so I spent the extra money on the pretty pillow cases. Since I had the pillow cases from the sheet set, I put that on my pillows and then the pretty one over that. More protected pillows!
Quality and Such
It’s all rather smooth! I definitely notice a different feeling (in an amazing way) compared to my old sheet set from Target. Granted the Anthropologie ones were much pricier, the price isn’t 100% worth it other than the design. There are some reviews where the color fades significantly after washing, so I’ll see if that’s true with mine after I throw these in the laundry.
