New Pillow – Marlow Pillow Review
It’s difficult finding a good pillow… the husband is extremely happy with his pillow from Target. I actually had that pillow too, but then we left his in a motel, and then he took mine. It was a memory foam pillow, and the height was decent, and since then, I got another memory foam pillow based off of feedback from friends, coworkers, etc., but the height is just too low for me. I recently saw an ad for the Marlow Pillow, which is advertised as the people’s pillow – customize by firmness / softness, etc. Sounds pretty sweet, right?
Ordering the Marlow Pillow
I ordered directly from this website. Each pillow is $65, which is a lot of money for a pillow that isn’t guarantee to work. There was a 40% off if you buy 4 of them, and that’s exactly what I did! 3 of the 4 pillows have been claimed, so I have one extra currently… hmmm… Anyways, ordering was a breeze and the packaging is the above – compressed pillows wrapped in plastic.
What Caught My Eye
The adjustable portion appealed to me. Marlow Pillow’s website was clean and easy to access so that made things a bit more convincing too. The headline photo was taken as a screen capture on their website and that shows the functionality / highlights of the marlow pillow.
Let it Breathe and Grow
I took out one marlow pillow and let it expand. It happens rather quickly, and I used the pillow the night of.
New Pillow Smell
One bad thing was that there was that chemical-ish smell. It’s been about a week, and the smell is still lingering. Perhaps I should have let it air out a bit more instead of putting the marlow pillow in a pillowcase right away.
Zippers for Adjustment
The pillows came with some instructions re the zippers. There are zippers on each side/end, and fully zip means firmer, one zipped and one unzipped is medium firm, and both unzipped is a softer pillow.
Materials and Care (from their website)
- Filling is 80% polyurethane foam (memory foam) and 20% polyester fiber
- Shell fabric is a 100% cotton, 120 GSM sateen fabric
- 100% polyester, 180 GSM fabric mesh gussets
- Made in China
- 100% vegan and allergy friendly
- Care: Spot clean only. Regularly fluff your pillow to restore loftiness.
Dimensions / Specs (from their website)
- Standard: 17.5″ x 26″, 40 oz. fill weight
- King: 17.5″ x 36″, 55 oz. fill weight
I got their standard pillow. Good height, considering it’s much lighter than the memory foam pillows we’ve had.
Worth it Overall?
I don’t dislike the marlow pillow. It is better than the memory foam one I had previously because this marlow pillow has better height. I’m not a fan of the slight smell, but that should go away over time. $65 is a bit much, but 40% off is alright. My back and neck issues aren’t solved yet, but I’ll keep using my marlow pillow for now!
