Fitness Journal – Day 11 of 90

Day 11 of this 90 day journey, recording the spots in the 90 day fitness journal. Rather chill day overall, and I have a 4 day weekend sort of. It depends on what happens tomorrow and whether I’m on the weekend coverage schedule this Holiday weekend.

Morning

It was a bit difficult to get out of bed this morning because it’s still cold. Today was filled with rain. I made my usual coffee and had more of those Trader Joe’s pretzel slims with some triangles of the Laughing Cow cheese.

Good News

Guess what? The ChiPOOtle worked! I was able to make a bowel movement this morning. It felt so nice. I also snacked on more dried fruit between breakfast and lunch. Fresh fruit is tastier, but I’m getting used to these dried peaches from Trader Joe’s.

Work-outs

Today’s Blogilates workout consisted of –

  • Fun Indoor Cardio Workout – this was probably around 6 minutes of working out. The rest of the video was Cassey advertising her planner from 2015. Short and sweet.
  • 20 Minute Lean Arms Cardio Work – ugh, my knees and hips. My shoulders and palms were supposed to ache, but somehow it was my knees and hips. Overall not bad though.
  • 10 Minute Beautiful Arm Sculpt Pilates Workout – this one was rather difficult, especially doing it after the one above. I could have tried harder, but eh.

Lunch – Tried New Chicken Place

We ordered takeout from Proposition Chicken. It’s an interesting place as they have 3 types of proteins –

  • Fried – classic, delicious fried chicken.
  • Flipped – rotisserie style chicken.
  • Fake – crispy tofu with BBQ sauce.

We tried a fried chicken sandwich, a flipped chicken entree, and some chicken strips. It was overall rather tasty, though one can definitely buy a whole rotisserie chicken for less than the price for a few pieces from this place.

More Protein

I’m rather proud of myself that I had more protein today and not completely consuming empty carbs. I’ve been more aware of what I’ve been snacking on since this journey! The fried chicken sandwich was… well, I let the husband eat most of it because there was too much mayo in there. I don’t mind a bit of mayo, but so much in a slaw just turns me off. The fried chicken was delicious though. I tried some of the sandwich, some of the biscuit, and a lot of the rotisserie chicken with their special sauce.

Afternoon/Before Dinner

Work, work, work. Everyone has to complete an unconscious bias training before sometime next month, so I completed that today. It was simple, a lot of videos, and questions and answers. I played a bit more Homescapes than I would have liked today. It’s tempting to delete the game, but ugh… can’t help it.

Lunar New Year Superstitions

Tomorrow is Lunar New Year, but I’m not quite sure how to celebrate. My parents haven’t done as much for the new year over the years, but we will have a meal or 2 together over the weekend. I was told no showering or cleaning on the day of (tomorrow), which should be a breeze! Tomorrow is supposed to be my shower/hair washing day, but I can postpone to Saturday instead. My parents mentioned they always do 1 vegetarian day in the year, which is Lunar New Year. They cook these non-meat dishes (not quite sure what they are) for the new year and only eat it on that day. I suppose they have no interest in making it on other days of the year.

Dinner!

Fajitas with guac and cheese tonight! These were packed with chicken protein. I’ve had more grams of proteins than fats today, which is a first in a while. I treated myself to some mochi ice cream after dinner, and it was so good! I feel quite full now and feel that I should walk some of it off, but somehow I’ve been feeling so inactive since after the workout today.

Day Overview

I’ve been consuming over 2,000 Calories or very close to 2,000 Calories, but today (surprisingly, unless something is off) it’s rather under. It’s close to 1,600 today! I’m looking forward to the weekend, and I’d like to try a bit more during the workouts. I shouldn’t be interrupted too much over the long weekend, so I can probably do a whole video without pausing.
