Fitness Journal – Day 42 of 90 (Happy Pi Day!)

It’s Day 42 of 90 of this 90 day journey! More importantly, it’s Pi Day. An apple pie is currently in the oven as I’m typing today’s post. It won’t be finished until a while (these pies take an hour in the oven!), so I’ll be sure to enjoy it tomorrow. It’s also the end of week 6! WOW.

Morning

We “lost” an hour because of Daylight’s Savings time, but I got up early-ish because I had to go pee and couldn’t fall asleep afterwards. I was thrilled that I didn’t wake up with a headache from those full-filled glasses of wine from last night’s dinner. It was a rainy day, so coffee first thing felt so good. I had the left over wontons my mom made for breakfast today. 

Grocery Shop Sunday

I went grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s this morning with the husband, and it was not a very eventful trip. We got most of what we needed, notably butter, milk, and various things to cook this week, but they didn’t have anything we wanted. TJ’s has such great snacks, and they were either out of it all or isn’t stocking the items there. Ugh! Ah well.

Lunch – and more Boba LOL

We broke the Chinese takeout streak this Sunday and tried a new Mexican place instead. A boba place that we like was in the area so it would have been a waste not to go. Boba 2 days in a row… yum!! I got the mango milk tea with agar pearls and mango jelly. So good! I’m all about those jelly toppings. The super burrito I got was alright. I think I prefer the other place we frequent, but this place wasn’t terrible. The combo deal was good as for a dollar more or so, you get chips and salsa and a drink. Horchata counted, so we got one of those too! 

Today’s Workouts

I started to get a headache around lunch time, and it was probably not a good idea to finish the workouts after lunch. The workouts didn’t look too bad, and I know I’ve done them last month, but I was struggling today.

  • Fat Melter & Ab Trainer – OMG, a 30 minute one… SIGH. This one was 2 rounds of a series of exercises of mixed light cardio and ab work. I’m pretty sure we did this video last month because I remember Cassey’s dog in the way (so cute) and Cassey talking about how it’ll be so not right if her dog bit off her shorts or something. 
  • 10 Min Pilates Ab Workout – Ouch, my tailbone. I couldn’t do the first half of this video correctly because my tailbone area is still not fully healed. 
  • Ariel’s Abs – Cassey spins a wheel and we do whatever ab exercise it lands on. Funny how it landed on the same 3 twice – earthquake, plank jacks, and roll ups. The last exercise were scissors. 

Dinner!

I had the last quarter of the husband’s lunch leftovers and some Trader Joe’s teriyaki chicken and such for dinner today. A glass of wine was included as well. I got ingredients to make a pi-day apple pie after dinner, which I wished I did earlier today. It’ll be done before pi day is over though!

Today’s Overview

Woooo, hit over 2,000 Calories today! WORTH IT. No guilt whatsoever because I don’t feel like crap right now. I did feel a bit bad in the early afternoon, but that was probably from the salt from the chips and delayed reaction from last night’s wine. Maybe? 

Weekly Recap

It was overall a rather chill week, and I noticed I’m more happy whenever I bake something and when there’s good food for the day. I loved dining in at restaurants pre-pandemic, and takeout is a good substitute. Perhaps it’s that satisfaction of not having to cook or do own dishes that gets me… picking up that bag of takeout is just so nice and convenient. It’s terrible for my bank account though.
