Miette Easter Basket – Review and Insight!

Happy Easter

I hope you all had a great Easter weekend last week! Luckily I didn’t have to log on to do much work that weekend, especially since the days leading toward Easter were quite long. I’ve had cakes from Miette over the years, and I was looking for some cute Easter basket ideas for the kids. Perfect timing – got an advertisement email from Miette that they have Easter baskets!! Much cheaper than ones I’ve seen from Williams Sonoma and their collab with Pottery Barn or something, and slightly cheaper than See’s candy. Super cute, so I went for it!

Cute Easter basket with lovely Miette goodies - chocolate bunny, chocolate eggs, gummy candies, marshmallows, and more.

Easter Baskets

We aren’t a religious family, but when it comes to chocolates or holidays with cute stuff such as bunnies and whatnot, we want in with its deliciousness and cuteness. Also, we like doing fun stuff for the kids during Easter, such as “hiding” eggs around the house for them to find in the morning. This year, they get a bonus – the Easter basket!

My Chocolate Bunny “Obsession”

My parents didn’t give me Easter baskets or any Easter traditions because they were working a lot at the time and they didn’t really know much about American culture. The most Easter thing I did was that my grandfather took me to the park for egg hunts. Anyways, I didn’t get to buy cute Easter candies when I was growing up, but one day, one of my mom’s friends dropped off an Easter basket. It had a “large” chocolate bunny and some other stuff in them. Prob one of those generic grocery store pre-packaged Easter baskets, but I was so thankful and loved it.

Disappointment

Though I was thrilled to have my first chocolate bunny, I was so disappointed that it was hollow! I know that now, but back then… oh man. Anyways, I’ve always thought the ears were the best part!

Cute that there’s also a plastic egg filled with a bag of jelly beans here. Great for kids and adults!

Miette Easter Basket Ordering and Shipping

As of early-ish April 2023, Miette’s link to their Easter stuff is here. Ordering was easy as I added baskets to the cart, selected a delivery date, and checked out. UPS tracking was provided a bit afterwards. The actual packaged arrived a day after my selected date, but it was just before Easter so no worries there. Both baskets were wrapped and the cardboard box was filled with packaging peanuts. Miette colorful tape was around the box as well. Cuteness all over!

Miette Easter Basket Contents / Description

Straight from their website – Our Easter basket looks like it came out of the movie ‘Easter Parade’ with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire. It has everything a classic basket should have, beginning with the neat square-shaped basket itself. Nestled in the green paper grass you will find: a fat milk chocolate bunny, a handmade Hammond’s lollipop, Miette shortbread cookies, Miette marshmallows, a bag of Easter sour chicks and gummy bunnies, and an Ecoegg (a compostable plastic egg) filled with jelly beans. It’s all bundled together in a flourish of cellophane and satin ribbon. It’s so beautiful you could write a sonnet…

Sweets Galore

Great selection of enjoyable sweets, such as the bunny, fancy lollipop, chocolate chicks, chocolate eggs, marshmallows, gummies, sour candies, jelly beans, and shortbread cookies. I was hoping the kids would leave their baskets on the table so that we can all share, but both of them took their baskets up to their rooms and left them there! We had lunch with people over and I asked them to bring down the box of shortbread so that we can all try. It was pretty good shortbread, but not so buttery, but would go exceptionally well with coffee. It said lemon shortbread, but we didn’t really taste the lemon which worked to my advantage.

The baskets came a bit messy due to the shipment, so I re-arranged everything afterwards. There was one egg that the foil wasn’t as wrapped around unfortunately, but just that one piece.
Rearranged the basket! Just need to tie that ribbon.

Basket Satisfaction?

I’d be really happy to receive this basket! It’s well put, full of delicious sweets. I would prefer some more stuff, but though this basket was still a bit on the pricy end, Miette goodies are of quality.

Ribbon Color and Egg Color

Both the egg color and ribbon color were random. I didn’t get to choose which color plastic egg or ribbon the basket had. It was a surprise! The ones I got were yellow egg, green ribbon, and the other one was pink egg and yellow ribbon.

A close-up of the basket. Definitely reusable, but not at all splinter-proof

Order Again Next Year?

Hard to say… though this basket was a hit, I think I’d try something different for the kids (and myself) next year. If Miette switches up the sweets by quite a bit so that it would be different, then I’d considering getting Miette Easter baskets again. I would love to make my own, but I was really busy before Easter and I was also lazy… but maybe I’ll be more prepared next year!

Tied the ribbon!
