Fancy Hot Pot Experience @ The X Pot at the Venetian in Vegas

I am not a hot pot fan, but I do love good broths and Wagyu! This short Vegas trip was with my parents and brother, and when the parents are involved… some form of Chinese food is a must unfortunately, so that’s how we ended up trying The X Pot at the Venetian in Vegas! It was nice to learn that The X Pot isn’t only hot pot. They also have some appetizers, rice dishes, noodle dishes, etc.

Entrance - at the Venetian, right by the shops upstairs from the casino floor

A la carte and Tasting Menu Options

Service here is really good. We were given an overview of the options, including a la carte and the tasting menu. There was quite a bit with the a la carte menu, so we decided to go with the tasting menu, which seems to be the popular choice here. There were some good selections, which isn’t really explained on the menu itself, but our server explained it all to us.

Our Choices –

  • Signature Wagyu Tartare – default comes with for the table to share.
  • Special swan cake – default one each for each participant. It’s more of a pastry with egg yolk filling. Quite oily.
  • Yin-Yang – small slice of raw wagyu wrapped around, topped with uni and caviar. We got 2 of these.
  • Braised foie gras with red wine sauce – we got 2 of these as well. The above and this one – we had a choice of one per guest, so we pick 2 and 2.
  • Soup base – we got to select 2, so we picked the creamy lobster and the creamy truffle mushroom. We all wanted the lobster, and it was a toss up between the tomato and the mushroom, and my dad preferred the mushroom.
  • Wagyu Feast – X Assorted Chef’s Selection Beef Combo – A5 Wagyu ribeye cap, stone axe chuck roll, A5 Wagyu Chef’s Choice Cut – big platter of the raw meat for us all to share. TBH it all looked more or less the same to me. Whoops lol.
  • Sashimi//Himalayan Salt Block Grill.- $28 supplement that comes with ribeye uni nigiri, ribeye with foie gras, beef tongue, chuck short rib, and Wagyu uni wrap. We decided to get 2 of these. Great that not everyone needs to participate!
  • Classic Hotpot Selections – we get to select 4 items. I am not familiar with most of these other than dumplings, so we chose the Wagyu dumplings for one of the items. They then chose the Wagyu beef tripe, goose intertwine, and bamboo fungus with shrimp paste for the other 3, but they did not have any bamboo fungus, so they gave us shrimp balls instead.
  • Chef’s Recommendation Entree – since 4 of us are participating in the tasting menu, we got to select 2 items. We chose the bone marrow bibimbap and the golden Wagyu rice with black truffle. The server said we made the best options since they were the 2 most expensive and best tasting in his opinion.

Bringing Out the Food

Pretty much whenever it’s ready! Heavy on the photos and captions here. Enjoy my X Pot Experience!

The Wagyu beef tartare! Comes with the crispy stuff to put the Wagyu on top. Pretty tasty. A lot of flavor even without the add ons.

Small Table

They have individual pot options and shared pot options here. The hot pot thingy takes up quite a bit of space, so there isn’t much space on the table itself. They would put items at the corners, so it was a bit tricky getting photos of everything, but we managed. For the hot pot stuff, they put them off the table on other trays.

Dessert Not Included

Bummer! They do have these robot servers that would bring out a mousse or a mini cake or something if there is a birthday, and the robot would sing a birthday tune! We were all pretty full toward the end, so we didn’t tell them that it was my belated birthday.

Thoughts / Worth It?

The fam thought this was the best meal in Vegas during this trip. I really enjoyed most items in the supplement, and I liked the appetizers (yin & yang, braised foie gras) and the rice dishes. The soup bases were amazing, definitely the most flavorful ones I’ve encountered. Still not a fan of hot pot though, but that’s alright. I’d say it was a nice experience and that it was worth it since the cuts of meat were very premium. If you like hot pot, you’d enjoy this place more than me, and I enjoyed it!

The damage… we went for lunch, before we headed to the airport. I like how it was open for both lunch and dinner.
