New Puppy + Anthropologie Pet Bed Update

Before New Pup

We have 2 dogs – Mochi and Snowy. Mochi was with us since we lived in Maryland (we got her when she was 3 months old or so) and she rode with the husband the whole way to California. We rescued Snowy (she was a bit over 1 year old) during the early-ish parts of the pandemic. The husband and I were happy with 2 dogs, but we were entertaining an idea of a 3rd pup.

Not a clear shot of our 3 pups

Potato’s Story

The rescue named this pup BraveHeart, but he didn’t really go by the name and since he was still a puppy, we decided to change his name. Our daughter decided to name him Potato! So Potato it is. Potato comes from a dog hoarding situation. The house he was in burned down, and the rescue rescued 24 dogs from that house. I have no idea what happened to the owner(s). Potato was really scared, but began to warm up so he was ready for adoption.

Type of Dog

We have no idea! He could be a terrier mix, but he definitely is not hypoallergenic unfortunately. His furs/hairs are very different than Mochi the mostly Maltese and from Snowy’s (maybe partially Maltese?) furs.

Potato loves shoes!

Potato’s Demeanor

He was really quiet the first couple days. We learned that he loves to eat and he loves to try to do his business on pet beds. It’s been so long since we’ve potty trained a pup before, and we forgot how time consuming it was! Mochi didn’t take to well with him, but she’s doing better each day. Potato would initiate play sessions after the second day, so he’s getting more and more comfortable with us as well as with Mochi and Snowy. He’s as big as Snowy currently and at under 5 months, we think he’ll be the biggest dog in the house when he’s fully grown.

Pet Bed Destroyer!

So Potato destroyed one of the Anthropologie pet beds! My review of the pet beds initially is here. So after this, I’ve concluded that these Anthropologie pet beds aren’t the best quality. The destruction occurred when Potato scratched the pet bed. Our other pet beds were scratched a lot as well, and those didn’t take noticeable damage.

The Anthropologie Pet Bed Damage

Dogs would like to scratch areas to make themselves comfortable as they rest, and Potato decided to do this with one of the Anthropologie pet beds. I didn’t see it happen as I just saw the damage and asked what has happened. All happened in just a few minutes apparently. The strings/fabric of the pet bed cover torn, as seen in the pics above. You can pick up the string too, as shown in the pic right above. Crazy!!!
