Farm Rio Dress Review – Another Item from an Anthropologie Haul!

Another dress from Anthropologie so soon, especially after my Shoshanna one last week.

Farm Rio – Colors Galore!

I was exposed to Farm Rio a year or 2 ago from Anthropologie. The colors were very eye-catching, but unfortunately a lot of the items were pricey at full price. I was able to get a a couple pairs of shorts for rather cheap over a year ago and they’re pretty. Didn’t survive too well after the wash though… lesson learned.

The full dress. It's a wrap dress style.

Why This Farm Rio Dress?

Yep, it was on sale with another sale on top of the sale price. I even bought 2 Farm Rio swim suits earlier in the summer that I know I wouldn’t utilize. They looked so amazing and I couldn’t pass them up. Anyways, the shape of the dress – the wrap, the V neck portion looked like it’ll good good on me. The print is rather cute as well and I don’t own a dress in this print or color.

The full dress on me - not too bad huh

First Impressions

Wow, it was wrinkly! The pattern is really cute. How do I put this on? Interesting sleeves. No pockets either… bummer, but it is cute!

How to Put On

There’s no zipper or side or back stuff to put on this dress. It’s more of a robe style with a button inside that you use and then wrap it around and tie it up. It’s a bit strange to me, but I feel that you can change the size of the dress by adjusting (in this case, removing and re-sewing it on) where the button is on the dress.

This is the dress untied and unbuttoned. It can look great on back of a chair as well and it can totally be worn as a robe to some extent!
Here's the dress showing the button portion

The General Fit

It is a bit tight around the waist because of that button and it isn’t totally custom wrapped. There is one side (see header photo) where my breasts don’t seem bit enough to full it up, hence the gap. Yet again, the part below is a bit on the tighter end, so there may be a bit with the sizing.

Good Enough to Keep?

Yeah!! I’m pretty happy with this dress. The material isn’t as thick as I’d expect, especially since someone reviewed it on Anthro saying it was thick material. The sleeves are long-medium and the dress doesn’t have pockets, but it’ll be a fun wear on a not so hot day.
