I Love Cake!

And so does my family. They’ve designated me as the cake person whenever there is some family/relative event. So many excuses and opportunities to get cakes. We don’t like our cakes really sweet, so Masse’s Pastries in Berkeley, CA has been perfect since their cakes are delicious and not too sweet.

Ordering Cakes from Masse’s

Their ordering process is quite interesting and simple. Steps are –

Go to their ordering form on their website and fill out the form.
They will email you to confirm your order and with instructions to pay – credit card over phone.
Call and pay over phone before you go pick up the cake(s).

Alternatively, go during their opened hours and pick a cake that they have available right there and then.

These ordering instructions are accurate as of the date of this post, but perhaps they will get more high tech and accept online payments and such eventually.

Cakes for Various Occasions

I’ve picked up cakes from Masse’s for various occasions, mostly birthdays and major holidays. Since we love cake so much, I got some for “vaccination day” to celebrate with cake after one of those Covid vaccines.

Seasonal Stuff

I am so looking forward to Christmas and New Year because they have some nice unique cake flavors and types during these times! One of my faves was there green tea opera cake. They have some other Asian-flavored ones such as black sesame, but I haven’t seen that on the menu for a while… but if it does show up for new year or something, I’m pre-ordering one. They also do Easter cakes, various buche de noels, tarts, pastries, macarons, etc.

Mostly Birthdays

Masse’s have some weeks where they are on vacation and such, so if we need a cake then, it’s usually a less superior cake. Check out some of the various cakes we got for birthdays below!

So Many Photos on Yelp

You’re welcome. I have around 50 photos of goods from this place I posted on Yelp. It’s just that good!! Their tarts are excellent, but the cakes are our faves. They also have mini versions of the cakes too, in case their standard 8 inch cakes is too big. Masse’s also do wedding cakes and larger size cakes. Very talented!
