February 19, 2021/Comments Off on Ferrero Eggs – The Best Easter Hazelnut Candy!
Yes, it’s a Ferrero Rocher Brand!
Those hazelnut chocolates, wrapped in gold, looking so fancy in its clear and faceted box… so delicious and luxurious. My favorite part of Ferrero Rocher hazelnut candies is the crispy round part with the nutella/hazelnut spread in the center. I could go without the outside of the candy and the interior whole hazelnut though. This is where Ferrero Eggs come in… creamy delight without the nut chunks. You’ll get the initial crisp on the outside and the creamy hazelnut goodness on the inside. Simple.
Where I Spotted Ferrero Eggs
Target! I’ve never seen them on a bold display, usually in one of the side aisles in the back of the colorful Easter stuff. I enjoy regular Ferrero Rocher candies, and I was so excited when I saw Ferrero eggs. They have 2 variations as of today – chocolate, and hazelnut. I’ve only seen the hazelnut variation, and I think I’ll like hazelnut a lot more than regular chocolate, so I feel that I’m not missing out by not spotting the chocolate variation of these eggs.
Packaging and Such
Ferrero eggs come in such simple, yet cute, packaging. There are only 10 eggs in the bag, advertised as, “Chocolaty, Crispy and Creamy,” and a description of, “Chocolate covered crispy eggs with creamy Hazelnut filling.” It’s super accurate too! I enjoy these so much that I buy them at FULL PRICE! One thing I wished was that these would come in bags larger than 10. I consumed multiple bags of these the first time I discovered them, but have learned a bit of self control over subsequent years. My body doesn’t handle these sugars as well as they used to, so I’ve been savoring these this year. Perhaps, 3 bags max this season?
Ferrero Eggs Nutrition
As expected, these are definitely not healthy. Nutella or Hazelnut spread contains a lot of Calories and sugar, and these Ferrero eggs are no exception. 3 tiny eggs come in at 170 Calories with 14 grams of sugar.
That Creaminess Through!
Just look inside one of these eggs. You can clearly see the layers as advertised – a chocolate outer part covering a crispy shell, with creamy hazelnut filling in the center. I enjoy these on a colder day though, since it can be a bit messy when these are too warm.
Or, Just Bite Through!
YUMMMMMM!!!!! So much awesomeness. Make sure they aren’t expired when you consume them. I saw some online retailers that sell these, but there are complaints that the ones they receive are expired or not fresh. I enjoy picking these up directly at a store (notably Target during the pre-Easter / Easter season when they have them) and checking the expiration date and packaging myself.
