Fitness Journal – Day 62 of 90 (Princess Cake & Hot Cross Buns!)

Happy Saturday! It’s day 62 of 90 of this 90 day journal journey, and it’s been a super chill, both productive and unproductive day today.

Morning

Someone placed the bananas in the same basket that we put our bags of chips, and I forgot all about the bananas. They were rather ripe, and I don’t like eating super ripe bananas. I used them all to make banana muffins this morning. The kids liked them, and we ate some of those for breakfast. More coffee for me, of course.

Today’s Workout

It’s stretch and recover day! Today’s videos were –

  • 21 Minute Flexibility Fix – It’s that video with the small ball and strap. I still don’t have one of those massage balls, so I supplemented with my own stretches and did the strap stretches.
  • 10 Perfect Morning Stretches to Increase Energy – we did this one in the past. Pretty good stretching video!

To My Parents’ Place & Lunch

We headed to my parents’ place for lunch, and we had some moo-shu vegetables, scallion pancakes, and things along those lines. So good. My dad makes super delicious ones.

Good Friday Yesterday

The bakery I’d order cakes from had hot cross buns for this weekend. Yesterday was Good Friday, and some people would enjoy these then for the end of Lent. I’m not religious, but I really enjoy food and baked goods, so I enjoyed some of these today. The hot cross buns reminded some of my family of Panettone.

Afternoon!

Our counties had a vaccine surplus, and the husband and I were able to sign up for the vaccine for today! OMG, I am terrified of needles and it’s been giving me so much anxiety. We got our first dose today. It was interesting… burned, etc. Ugh needles. I spent the rest of the afternoon and early evening watching TV. The Office was on so I watched a couple episodes of that. There is a new season of Top Chef that is airing, and I got to watch the first episode. So good!

Dinner / Princess Cake!

I originally requested a cake to have, “It’s Vaccination Day” written on the cake, but I guess they either thought it was a joke or they just don’t write on their Easter cakes. Oh well. Dinner consisted of soup that my mom made, some chicken and string beans, and various meats. We cut into the princess cake after dinner, and it’s pretty good! The princess cake was a golden sponge cake, raspberries, vanilla bean pastry cream covered with a pretty marzipan.

Cake = So Good

It’s so good! The cake was pretty on the inside too. Everything inside went so well together. Too bad the bakery doesn’t offer this cake so much, so I’m super happy to have tried it today, especially after the vaccine.

Today’s Overview

Mmmm sugar… that’s pretty much it for the day. Jkjk… the vaccine was the most productive thing I did today as the other stuff was just chilling. No work, nothing. Food and TV… felt so nice, but then it’s just another weekend day down the drain. Happy 4 3 2 1 today LOL.
