Fitness Journal – Day 83 of 90 (Vaccination Day, Part 2)

Happy Vaccination Day! It’s day 83 of 90 of this 90 day journey, and I got my second vaccine dose this afternoon. Glad to get that over with, though the person that was giving me the shot asked if I was okay, LOL.

Morning

The fiber wasn’t as much of a success this morning, but it wasn’t a complete failure either. I made myself a cinnamon pear almond butter smoothie for breakfast along with some coffee with milk. I’ve developed quite a liking to almond butter these days. That smoothie tasted just like almond butter, probably because I might have put in some extra. So much fatty goodness, but I suppose it’s good fats.

Lunch @ Parents’

We picked up the cake we ordered and then headed over to my parents’ place. Lunch consisted of porridge with meatballs and various other stuff they put in there, some chow fun, wontons, and pot stickers. My mom really likes to make porridge for lunch as a starter. I’m not really a fan, but I eat it anyways.

Today’s Workouts

It’s stretch Saturday! There was around 40-45 minutes of stretching today, and it was so good. I keep pushing stretching off, and I’m glad I did all of it today. My body really needed that. The videos were –

  • Feel-Good Stretches for Splits – this was the longer video. There were many stretches, each for a minute long. Most of them felt rather nice and it reminded me that I need to stretch more often. It’s something I’ve been meaning to do each evening, but I “forget” to do so.
  • Total Body Stretch – this was the shorter video, but still 10 minutes. It followed a similar format, but an older video. Still good.

Afternoon Snack

My parents have tea everyday in the afternoon and enjoy some nuts or some sweets to go along with the tea. We had some cinnamon raisin bread today. We also had some fruits later in the afternoon.

Happy Vaccination Day!

The husband and I went to get our second vaccine dose later this afternoon. I was sweating so much, especially around my armpits and my feet. The process went as smooth as it did during our first dose. I remember it burning quite a bit after my first dose, but it didn’t burn as much this time around. Sweet! The husband thought this dose hurt more than the first one. We both seem OK right now other than slight soreness and such, but we shall see how we feel tomorrow. I got a headache and am a bit tired, but that could be from being on my period. Curses, haha.

Dinner

My parents had some of these extremely seasoned yet bland chicken drums, so they used those to make a chicken curry with potatoes and carrots and coconut milk. The flavors were really good and it made the bland chicken so much better. They also made some string bean chicken and such cause the kids wouldn’t eat the curry. Food was good tonight.

Cake Time!

That’s right… I ordered a cake that has, “Happy Vaccination Day” written on the cake. It’s the cake on the header image, and above pic is the cake’s inside. The cake was a pistachio raspberry cake, and the description is – Pistachio almond flourless sponge cake, raspberry curd pistachio Bavarian, and raspberry mousse. So delicious! The almond flour pistachio base layer was rather dense and dry, but it was tasty. Pistachio bavarian was soooo good, but rather light in flavor as the raspberry curb/mousse portion overpowered the pistachio bavarian. Yum yum!

Today’s Overview

My amazing blue pen ran out of ink. Today was pretty good despite my nervousness before the vaccine. It was otherwise super chill and I caught up on Top Chef. Such an amazing season.
