I Shopped Maison Miru’s Sample Sale and Here are My Mystery Earrings!
My first Maison Miru piece was from a Christmas gift last Christmas, and it was pretty awesome. I haven’t bought anything from them directly, but have checked out their site once a while. They had a sample sale earlier this month, and one item is their threaded titanium flat back earrings!
The Catch of These Mystery Flat Back Earrings!
One earring normally costs $40 – $50, so $15 was a really good price! The catch is it’s indeed a mystery. You don’t know which design you’ll get and you don’t know if you’ll get a gold colored titanium one or a silver colored titanium one. There is an option to pay $5 for to guarantee a gold or silver color, but I decided to be fun and ordered 6 mystery ones! Also, there are some imperfections to these earrings too, something slight with the design or something?
Shipping and Packaging
The ordering process was a breeze as most online shopping is, but as of this month, Maison Miru’s website isn’t the most user friendly in terms of searching for what you want. They have great categories, but I’d like to be able to filter from that as well and see silver colored ones when I view flat back earrings as opposed to just the default gold view. Anyways, my order was shipping within the hour! It arrived within a couple days, but the packaging was very standard – nothing like what I received previously. I suppose the good packaging is for full priced stuff, stuff not within their sample sale.
What I Expected and What I Received
Maybe I should have paid that extra money to guarantee gold as I expected to receive more of a half and half gold / silver ratio, but got 5 silver and 1 gold instead. The “cool” designs are in silver color, so I suppose I was lucky and didn’t get 6 pairs of the same design!
Functionality
They work!! The designs are imperfect, but it’s hard to tell from a far so these sample sale earrings are a great deal. I removed my faux rook earring and put on one of these earrings and they’ve been pretty good since I had no poor reactions to them after the first week. Yes, I kept it in! They are difficult to put in so I had the husband help me screw the lil end in for me.
The Gambler in Me
Soooo I wasn’t so thrilled with the ratio, so I went on their website during the last sample sale day and ordered more! Maison Miru sells more than just earrings so for the fun of it, I also ordered a premium mystery item. Hoping they are nice earrings I’d wear or a necklace I’d put into good use, but we shall see! They must have been busy during that day of the sample sale because
