My Tarina Tarantino Jewelry Obsession – Notably the Pink Head (Hello Kitty) Items!

How It Started…

I was wandering around Westwood by UCLA during my college years and stumbled upon a boutique store. Nearly everything there was too expensive for me (over $100 jeans!!) back then, but I couldn’t get my eyes off the Tarina Tarantino jewelry display. It was such a small section, and I was drawn to the items with Hello Kitty variations on them. Luckily, certain pieces were on sale, so I went ahead and bought some! Tarina has a website that sells some amazing pieces here

Learning More About Tarina Tarantino Jewelry

Each piece comes in a see-through pink pouch with a card. I knew then that these were Tarina Tarantino jewelry pieces, so I looked it up. General theme behind each piece is pretty amazing – lots of sparkles, statement pieces. Hair accessories were sparkly and they stand out too. So much of it looked wonderful, but the Hello Kitty / Pink Head collaboration portion was my favorite. It appears to be a blend between Hello Kitty’s face and Tarina’s pink hair. So amazing! There are various styles, such as buns, straight, long and wavy, etc. I wanted them all!

Bought More Quickly

It was nice working at a campus cafe and knowing some people that work in other diners so I made some money and got some free food. Extra money went toward more Tarina Tarantino jewelry. I couldn’t settle for 1 mod ring, as I had to get more. Honestly, the rings don’t fit my slim fingers well, even with some adjustment, but they’re so pretty. Mostly as decorative and to make my Stella Jewelry Box more pretty.

Sanrio Store Collabs

I miss Sanrio stores! It’s such a treat to see one (none near me now) as most of them closed. However, back then, I’d go to them more often and there were usually a few Tarina Tarantino jewelry featuring Hello Kitty. It was always such a treat seeing them there because most of those pieces aren’t online. It made me wonder how many different pieces there were in total or maybe I got into the collecting game too late.

Chunky Heavy Earrings and Such

A lot of the Tarina Tarantino jewelry pink head items that I’m attracted to are quite heavy and chunky. My skin is sensitive so it doesn’t really go well with my skin, so obviously I’m more into collecting these than actually wearing them. The hello kitties dressed as animals are super adorable. Awww!!! See those earrings above? Definitely a collectors piece than actually wearing.

Resorted to Online Shopping

Full priced is very pricey, so I really liked looking at eBay and when the Tarina site had sales. I obtained so many more pieces this way – online rather than in-person.

There Was (is there still one?) a Tarina Tarantino Store!

Melrose Ave in Los Angeles. Made the trek there, but there weren’t any sale hello kitty jewelry items. I couldn’t leave empty handed, so I bought the above hair clip. The wedding collection is one of my faves! So much sparkle and luxe.

OMG, There Were Boxes!!

I scored the above box many years ago on eBay. So beautiful. I haven’t seen these in her store or her online store. There are some other designs, and OMG, I want them all!!

Inside the Box

Designed inside and out. Very lovely. I tried on the wedding earrings before, but the material gave me a reaction and it was rather heavy. The design was too lovely that I wasn’t upset. More for me to collect/display.

My Latest Purchase

This is why I’m posting this post… my recent Tarina Tarantino jewelry purchase! I took a break for a good handful of years, and decided to look back as I put on a necklace the other week. All these items – 3 mod rings and a Queen Alice necklace were on sale. So pretty!! Tarina also has a book that talks about her inspiration and shows some steps to make various jewelry pieces. Pretty cool. Unrelated, but I have a Wizard of Oz necklace by her somewhere… couldn’t find it just yet, but it was so adorable… SIGH… I better not spend a lot more here anytime soon!!
